The first time she saw it, it was the middle of the night. Late June, she was sitting by her window. She tried to read, but the book was too boring so she watched the waves instead. All of a sudden, there was a light. Beneath the waves, she saw a green and vibrant light. She thought about leaving the house and going to the beach, maybe she could get a closer look. Before she could do anything, the light sunk down and vanished back into the ocean.
The following two months, there was nothing. Her late-night-reading sessions became more frequent, although she barely read anymore. Instead, she kept watching out for another sign of the light. She had started to wonder of it had even been real, or if she had imagined it; it had been a late night after all.
Then, one day in May, it was there again. At first, she thought it was only the reflection of the moonlight. She'd been fooled by that many times. But as the light kept getting brighter, there was no doubt. It was there again. And real. Again, she didn't know what to do. She'd imagined this situation a dozen times, but she'd never known what to do. Because the light didn't seem to go away this time, she rushed down the stairs and left the house. The light was still there, about ten meters from the beach. As she came closer, she could make out some other shadows in the water. In the sand stood another figure, taller than her. He turned around when he heard her approaching.
"Hello. Are you here because of the light?", he asked her.
She looked around and thought *Obviously*, but she only panted out "Yeah. You too?"
The boy nodded. "My name is Josh. Is this the first time you've seen it?"
She shook her head. "Nice to meet you, Josh. My name's Margot. I've seen it before. Once. Have you?"
The boy nodded again. "Me too. Once. On March 3rd of this year. When did you see it?"
Margot took a step towards the light. "Same day. Around 11:40pm. She looked at Josh. "Do you know anything about it?"
Josh was looking straight at the light. "No. I saw it from my window." He pointed at one of the houses at the beach, it was the same kind as Margots. She thought about swimming out there. Not like this though. It would take to long to get a swimsuit. And it was too cold. The two stood there, just looking at it.
